About the Project
In addition to being a graphic designer, I’m also a guidebook author with three self-published books. The I Heart Pacific Northwest site is where I post trip reports and info about hiking and backpacking gear and skills.
The site utilizes WordPress’s blogging functionality to display content based on categories to make it easy for a site visitor to find what they are looking for. The trip reports tell a visual story of a hike, with day by day descriptions and photos. The gear and skills sections are focused on basics for those getting started, and I provide tips on what I use and why. The food section covers meal planning and recipes for making your own dehydrated backpacking meals.
The site provides supplementary income via affiliate links for anyone interested in purchasing gear or food ingredients mentioned on the blog.
