PAE Consulting Engineers
website design
Location || Portland, Oregon
Project Highlights || Our original website development work with PAE Consulting Engineers was designed to showcase the many innovations PAE mechanical and electrical engineers have contributed to the sustainable design community. Another goal was to capture the fun and family-type environment that PAE employees value so highly. We also understood that the site would be evolving and growing over time so we developed its content architecture to allow for this expansion.
During the second phase of site design, we worked with PAE to evolve its foundation website by expanding its Sustainable Design Center (SDC) and by introducing social media as a core component of the site.
In our initial design project, we laid the foundation for an online presentation of information related to the sustainable design of building systems. This initial SDC section was very well received, and PAE felt it was time to take it to another level by redesigning that section of its site as a “mini portal” to a wide range of sustainable design topics.
In addition to the new SDC, we designed a new blog for the website, which PAE hopes to use as an online charette. Their goal is to stimulate industry discussions of emerging sustainable design topics, as well as providing a cross-referencing opportunity for SDC subject matter. Other social media additions to the blog are content feeds and twitter updates.
