SimmsMann-UCLA Center for Integrative Oncology website

Project Description

The SimmsMann-UCLA Center for Integrative Oncology, which is part of UCLA’s Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center and UCLA Oncology, helps patients and family members optimize their wellness and address the challenges of cancer care. As such, the Center’s website must meet some very exacting standards. The design must be optimistic, uplifting, and sensitive to the needs of people facing one of the greatest challenges of their lives. The site must be very easy to use and to read; information must be readily accessible; and it must be easy to maintain.

We worked with Center staff to design and build a WordPress website that provides distinct information channels for different types of users. There is extensive use of video to provide lecture content for users who cannot travel to the Center. Event information and activity schedules are prominent, as are all actionable types of content. We also provided complete training to Center staff so they can fully maintain their new site.

“As an academic Center, we relied on Yulan Studio to turn our content-heavy information into something that was visually welcoming.  John and Lisa had great intuition about what our patients and readers needed and wanted to see. They were able to ask the questions we hadn’t even considered to design a website that was easy to navigate.  And, finally, they were able to work within our complex university structure to seamlessly implement the website!

“We at the Simms/Mann Center for Integrative Oncology are so passionate about what we do. It was wonderful to work with people who were able to connect with us and bring their own passion for design and communication to create our wonderful new website.”
