KC SmartPort interactive maps

Project Highlights ||  Kansas City’s SmartPort organization promotes the KC region as a national leader in transportation and logistics. An important element of their marketing program is to provide clear and persuasive information about the area's extensive distribution and logistics infrastructure.

To help make this information more engaging to site users, we developed an extensive interactive infographic feature that uses maps to illustrate the various infrastructure elements that exist, and how those elements relate to one another.

The maps we developed allow users to turn on and turn off various elements of the region’s distribution infrastructure, such as railroads, foreign trade zones, intermodal connections, highways, cities, etc. This allows users to compare whatever elements they choose and better understand the relationship that exists between them.
